Fastpitch Defensive Lessons

In the midwest softball players face an enormous disadvantage when entering the college recruiting arena due to our lack of defensive fundamentals. Many will find they can hit or pitch with the best of them, but when it comes to arm-strength, footwork, and glove-work we fall way beyond the curve nationally and internationally. In addition our lack of defensive skills indirectly puts our players safety at risk because our hitting is much more advanced. At SoftballOne we recognize these struggles and have developed a fundamentally sound, simple, and highly effective program to give fastpitch softball fielders of all levels the skills needed to compete, protect themselves, and become a complete player for their entire career.

Defensive Lessons include:

1. The Fundamental of footwork that will enable players to adjust to any position on the field.
2. The Fundamentals of the glove to hand transfer to prepare for a fast release.
3. The Mechanics and Fundamentals of overhand throwing to prevent injury and increase speed.
4. The Proper Mechanics of receiving a throw, the correct body position, and the different glove techniques used.
5. The Proper Mechanics of fielding a ground ball and connecting the body to the throw.
